Glorious hibiscus flowersWhat to bring: Green Turtle Cay is very casual. You'll need bathing suits, shorts and t-shirts, and a light jacket or sweater for the evening when the sun goes down. You may wish to bring one nicer outfit for dinner out.

You'll also need sunscreen and insect repellent. A flashlight may be useful.

Throw an inexpensive inflatable pool raft into your suitcase for floating off the dock.

The grocery stores have most everything you might need in the way of food and general supplies. Most places accept Mastercard and Visa but the grocery stores prefer cash or travellers checks.

When you get here: Pick up a copy of the local newspaper, The Abaconian, in most stores and restaurants, for more information on local events.

Another great source of Abaco information is at "Sandy Estabrook's Guide to the Abacos"

The Library in New Plymouth offers internet access.

If you need medical attention on Green Turtle Cay, there is a government clinic in New Plymouth (Tel. 242-365-4028).

Getting around: Bicycles and golf carts are available for rent for exploring the island and beautiful beaches. There are plenty of places to rent them – we use Kool Karts or T&A Golf Cart Rentals (email tnarentals@hotmail.com, phone 242 365-4259)
